What’s So Good About Netbooks? Are They Worth It?

So I’m getting a new laptop, and I see all these Netbooks out now. It seems like a excellent thought. . . honestly cheap compared to a Notebook, and smaller. From what I’ve heard, they are better for people like myself, who use the computer primarily for web surfing, downloading music and other entertainment applications.
Are Netbooks really as excellent as they seem? Are they worth it? What makes them different from Notebooks, just the memory? Will they work well for downloading music?
Any info appreciated, thanks!

A netbook will do everything a laptop will. The only difference is that they are not that powerful which means slower processor and less memory.
The best part of them is that they are small so you can always take them with you.
The solid state drive is basically the same as USB memory stick you probably have. Instead of having a regular hard drive it has “many memory sticks” it suppose to be much quicker and have a better life span.

netbooks are fantastic for what you want to do.As long as it’s not video editing or gaming.Basic games will work though.
A solid state drive is the latest and greatest is hard drive technology. It is much quicker than SATA hard drives, but more expensive.Make sure the hard drive you are getting is huge enough for your needs though.
Netbooks will work well for downloading music, provided you have a excellent internet connection.
Netbook is a mini laptop.(A netbook is smaller and cheaper than a notebook, but a notebook is quicker.)Beware of the screen size though. Some screens are just way too small.
EDIT:^Netbooks aren’t primarily for web access. They can do lots of things.Type stuff up,check email, watch movies, etc.

They’re small and useful for note-taking, web browsing, and anything you don’t need an absurdly powerful machine for. It’s a nice convenience over lugging a larger laptop around, providing you don’t need one.
Hard drive space would be somewhat limiting if you’re using a SSD (solid state drive, uses flash memory chips and not a rotating magnetic disk) and need to store a bunch of stuff, but again, the basic functionality of a computer would all be there.

A netbook would be a excellent choose for you. The are designed smaller for simpler travel but also function well as a replacement to your PC. Since you are not doing much major work on it, like gaming, you should go for it and save some money. An SSD as they are called is some newer technology that uses part of the memory as storage space. It is also less fragile than a hard drive which would be excellent for a laptop.

a netbook is ment for internet only nothing else it is a lot better to add a few extra bucks and get a notebook or a desktop. Dont buy a netbook a netbook is a pile of crap a notebook has a lot more you can do like movies and multimedia tasking a solid state drive does not support cd’s and dvd’s

solid state drive means it works a bit like your usb pendrive. Small and no moving parts.
The screens are small. I like a large screen, but its what is excellent for you. they will work fine for most things. unless you need something to play games or need mega resources Video editing and the like.
    All the best
