I am looking to sell my Advent laptop. Handily, it comes with the Tech Guys recovery tools pre-installed, if I use the Full Destructive Recovery option, will this make my laptop safe to sell, without any information being recovered from the hard drive by the new owner?

what you want to do is encrypt all the files that you don’t want other people to see or open then delete them. even if they can recover them they will be encrypted so no worries. the tech guys recovery tool can be deleted so you don’t have to worry about anyone finding your files other then that just delete everything that you place on the laptop and you will be fine. or if you have the SO dvd like the vista or XP ones you can just reinstalled and that will help just use the place back to factory settings that will help as well
No, that’s not enough.
You need to use DBan to shred your information.
Then you can do a full destructive recovery.
go to the windows command line and type in “format C:” it will wipe your hard drive completely. or if you use Linux (as root) type in rm /*.
