I just want it to run games at medium/high quality, store music, photos, videos, and be excellent for studying.

This Asustek features a 9800m GS, which is really based upon the 8800/9800GT desktop cores. Yes, that means games on high for barely over $1000. Otherwise, it’s a pretty unexceptional machine, but finding a 9800-series laptop for under $1500 US is hard.
The 96xx laptops use 8600GT cores, by the way, not 9600GT cores.
dell is excellent and cheap
well on the dell website, the cheapest laptop that can run games is the dell studio 15 ($850):http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/c…
I’d recommend a Satellite by Toshiba, it’s cheap and fully loaded: http://geturlaptop.com/search/toshiba+la…
id go with dell. for playing games, you will have to pay a bit more.
Acer, Aspire 5315-2153*’
