I Need A Very Cheap Laptop/notebook (to Be Used Solely For Writing – Don’t Need Internet) What Do You Suggest?

Basically, as long as I can travel with it, and as long as it has Microsoft Word on it (or something similar) I’ll be pleased. That’s all I need it for. Please send me in the right direction here, thanks!

Try EVEREX laptops. I bought my wife one, She does use the internet and play flash games or w/e she does on it, but she gives it rave reviews. Cost me $499.

Joshua, I have seen some at Walmart or go to walmart.com for about $399.00 . I got my son one at Dell for $499.00 and it has been really excellent.go to dell.com I would also place an ad in the paper that you are looking for a used one…sometimes people update and buy a better one and they have an extra. .also look at the pawn shops…if you buy one from the store be sure to question if it comes with microsoft word..sometimes that is an extra charge or you can buy the software and download it…I know that jarte.com is free…excellent luck

    Its called an alphasmarthttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie…
is a very basic word processor that you can type into, and then transfer that information to a computer later on
it acts like a keyboard once you transfer it (you need a cable – but its simple to find just a usb-male to ps2-female cable)
I used mine to write too. I don’t like how they keys press all that much though. See how you like it. They are cheap.

Look for a used PIII – it would still be quick enough for a decent connection if you change your mind and won’t break the bank – figure about $200.00.

If your going to spend the money on a lap top I would defiantly spend the extra cash to get one that is worth it. I went the cheap route and it is a mess. I have a problem with my lap top every freaken week. I wish I would of listend to others when they told me not to be so cheapy!!
