It’s my 18th birthday today and my parents have got me an Apple Macbook (laptop). I’ve just started it up and was wondering if Wifi (Wireless internet) can be used on my new laptop? How do you connect it? Because all I see in my intructions leaflet is to do with wired internet.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Your Apple already have a Wifi. So you just need to activate it
You just need to activate wifi from system preferences.
WiFi should be built into your laptop. Just follow the instructions for wireless internet or do a google search on Mac wifi.
Although 802.11 (A,B,G,N) are all standards, they each have their own setup routeens in windows and Mac. The only problem you will likely have is if you use certain types of encryption that are either incompatible or different. Also, they need to be the same technology standard.
A is on a different frequency than b/g. Some wireless devices support either. Most of them are simple to setup and implement the security. If you do run into an issue, disable security and see if they both can connect. If so, try adding different methods of security in the setup until you find one that works well with your mack and IBM compatible.
Yup you can as long as you have airport or airport card on your macintosh.
my mom has one and she uses “Airport” it’s problematic though….pleased birthday!
Pleased birthday.I`ve got a Macbook and they are the best.
In the top-right toolbar there shouls be a wireless strengh signal sign, click on that and it should give you the options for wireless connections.
The beauty with Apple is they are so simple to use.
Delight in.
