Wonderful Netbook
I have had portable computers to use with my work since the late 80′s (which means they started out about the size of a suitcase with a small screen about the size of an oscillator to Dell’s D600 laptop). This Netbook is my personal portable computer and I absolutely like it. The size is perfect for carrying on trips, the keyboard is nearly full size, the color is fantastic, it is very quick in its boot up, it has lots of memory, the WiFi works everywhere, and more. The NC10 doesn’t come with a DVD drive to load programs onto your Netbook or to watch a movie, but that’s okay! It is a fantastic investment.

Perfect “small” computer for around the house and when travelling.
My wife and I were looking for a “small” computer to keep in the kitchen area for checking emails and browsing the internet. Having never owned a notebook computer before, we saw the excellent reviews on this Samsung model and chose to give it a try. Couldn’t be more pleased. It came loaded with Windows XP, fired right up and has been working fantastic the past several weeks. Battery life seems real excellent, no negative issues at all. We also bought an external CD drive to plug into 1 of the USB ports and it works perfectly. Thinking of buying another one to use out in the garage/shed……especially for the price, you can’t beat it!

Very Satisfied
I bought this for one of my daughters as backup when her desktop was trashed by malware. I had reservations because other reviewers complained about the touchpad. I have always had a personality clash with touchpads, but chose to buy it anyway. Sure enough, the touchpad is very frustrating under Windows XP, so I bought a USB mouse, which works well.
I have used Linux for the last several years, so chose to do a dual-boot install of Ubuntu, using a pre-release copy of Ubuntu 10.4 (Lucid) from a pen drive. The installation went smoothly, and surprise! surprise! the touchpad works very well under Linux. Because Linux can read/write Windows files, it can be used to repair a trashed Windows.
I rebooted Windows to make sure that it would come up OK (it did) and learned that if I use my small finger, the touch pad is usable, though still frustrating. Maybe practice will make things better.
The machine is quicker than I expected it to be, and the screen is surprisingly simple to read. Really delight in using it

Nice useful netbook
I’m what you might call a post-computer-era user. I started using computers when you had to build your own, and was working in a computer store when IBM introduced the PC thirty years ago. I’ve had many computers, from tabletops to desktops to laptops and handhelds. I’m pretty much worn out on computers; I just want one that doesn’t weigh a ton, that boots up relatively quick, and that has enough memory and storage for me to do the few things I can’t–or don’t want to–do with my iTouch. Oh, and doesn’t cost something like the yucky national product of Peru.
My daughter bought one of these Samsung netbooks last year and I was taken by how suitable it was for everything I needed a computer to do. I wasn’t quite sick of my XP desktop yet so I didn’t do anything about it then. This January I chose to dump all the other computers and focus on a single one that does everything I want. I don’t regret the choice one bit. Though not a blazer, it’s quick enough for my needs. The battery life is fabulous; I charge it about twice a week and the rest of the time I just suspend it (it’s all set up for that–Function Key/Escape does it), and I can come back a day later and find the battery has only lost a percent or two of charge. The screen size doesn’t bother me; if I need it larger I just connect it to my TV. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse (.99 from Aldi’s) when I need a full-size keyboard or find the built-in touchpad too annoying. With a nice-size hard drive, a gig of RAM, and a honestly quick front-side bus, this may be the last computer I need–at least until wearable computers are widely available…

Fantastic small machine…..
I have owned the NC10 for about three weeks and there really isn’t anything that I can say terrible about it. If I had to pick a con it would be the touch pad mouse. Really though I reckon that it’s mostly the fact that it’s on a netbook. The mouse is small and can be a pain to use for long periods of time. I bought a wireless mouse with a ‘nano’ receiver and I just leave the receiver in the netbook. The battery seems to last about 6 hours, it depends on what you are doing. I run a few older games like Age of Empires 2 and Mechcommander and they run fantastic. I am going to install Halflife and see how that goes. One huge selling point was that this one still had Windows XP. The ram upgrade will be needed but for now before I run anything more taxing it works fantastic. The keyboard is simple to get used to. The wireless picks up better signal than my full size HP notebook. Any questions about this please respond or email me!! Delight in this fantastic product!!!
