I have Gateway MA3 laptop and it is been installed with WindowsXp operating system. The problem is that the laptop is not able to start well. I have no thought what could have been incorrect. I performed a clean install to the system but still with same issue. I keep getting the a popup that is “Lsass.exe the endpoint format is invalid.” Please help me out. It would be a fantastic help. Thank you.

The problem could well been with the operating system. It could be that the software that you have installed may be appended with some issue and it is causing the same as you have reinstall the same using the same source. So in order to get the things work done well you need to again perform a clean install by using some other disc that has no issues with it. You may get to a better conclusion then.

The other way through which you can make the issue to be sorted is by formatting the system completely or by deleting the partitions. This may then help you out well for making the issue to be sorted well. I hope you may then work and process accordingly for the thing. So do check out as you may then be able to work with the system well.

It would be better that flash the Bios. You need to flash the bios with the latest update and then look out for the issue. It would be very much essential and necessary that you perform accordingly. I hope it would then let you to get the issue sorted well. I hope you may then be able to perform accordingly. So do check out. This would then process and work well for the thing.

If you are not able to get the issue sorted it would be better that you take the system to the manufacturer and get it serviced. If its under warranty you may not be charged. The issue could well being internal. It could be with the device or any hardwareresources related as you are not able to get the issue to be corrected. get it serviced. It will then help you out to sort the issue that you face.

Unplug all the peripherals that is been attached to the system and to the motherboard. clean up and then connect the devices. Remove the cmos battery and start the system. Now shut the system off and then insert the cmos battery and then plug in the RAM. now check out for the thing. You may now be able to work out for the same. So do check out for the issue.

It would be better that you replace the device. This may then help you out to work out well for the same. It could be that the device been under warranty you need to check out that it could then be replaced well. I hope you will then be able to sort the thing. Make the issue to be sorted well. So do check out.

I have problem with my notebook

Hp Pavilion DV6000 series seems occered in a lot of problem. Some body says, The HP laptop battery problems are truly the pits and may be enough for people to stop buying HP laptops! But I have to say that it’s not inherently HP’s responsibility, HP Laptop Battery(HP Pavilion dv2000 Battery) some problem of HP Pavilion DV6000 battery may cause by us and could be fixed by some simple operation.

HP Pavilion DV6000 Battery Problem CaseWhen the Hp DV6000 battery powered, the screen flickers and finally crushes out.
No matter when I use my battery to supply power for the laptop, HP Presario V2000 Battery(compaq v2000 battery), HP pavillion zx5000 Battery(HP hp zx5000 battery), HP PP2200 Battery HP Pavilion dv2000 Battery(hp dv2000 battery), HP HSTNN-LB31 Battery,the screen will suddenly flicker then die out when I using it. But the computer is still running and the screen still seems opened. Besides there nothing showed on the screen (once I could watch movies and still hear sounds).

This happens only when using pavilion dv6000 battery for power supply, and it is not the case when using AC power supply.
I’ve got an HP dv6000 that will not charge the battery. I took the unit apart and replaced the power jack/usb board, thinking this would solve my problem…it didn’t. I am still having the same problem.

I am able to charge the dv6000 battery in a friends hp and the laptop works fantastic until I need to charge again.
I noticed that my laptop power stayed at 6% even though I was on power for over two hours. I checked and noticed this…plugged in, not charging.

My laptop is pluged on but the hp dv6000 battery meter keeps telling me that it’s not charging.

Well…I have had the same problem with my DV6109. When the battery completely discharges due to lack of use and charging, it gets stuck at 0% and the red X appears across the hp laptop battery.

Basically, power down the laptop and then remove the AC adapter plug. Remove the pavilion dv2000 battery, perhaps wait a minute. HP PP2200 Battery Then place the battery back in and then plug in the AC adaptor plug. You then should see the charger light come on showing the battery is charging. Perhaps wait a few minutes before powering on the laptop to confirm that the battery is indeed charging. The problem seems to be in the logic (not sure where, if it is the software driver, etc.) when the laptop is on, it doesn’t get a charge. But with the laptop off, plugging in a battery after it has been removed – it works with a simpler charger system that doesn’t use the computers’s main CPU.

The problem is i shut it down fully charged. the next morning i star it up and it look ike it has been running as the pavilion dv6000 battery is down to nearly half, i want to go away for a month and want to take it with me but cannot work on a half battery always. i enstalled the vista battery gadgets thingy, will that have an effect. when i shut it down it looks like there is some thing on still as a blue light stay blinking for a long time.

My laptop DV6500t turned itself on automatically after I shut it down. This caused the hp dv2000 battery to drain all the time. I sent it in for repair, but HP couldn’t reproduce the failure and just sent it back to me.
I have problem with my laptop, its 1y ancient, I bought it from a friend, and until now I didnt notice anything terrible, because it was always plugged into power. I have to plug it and then turn on. To my surprise battery is then indicated again at 0%.

Solution for HP Pavilion DV6000 Battery Not ChargeReinstalling the power management software has just fixed it for me. Go to device manager and under hp dv2000 batteries, unistall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery. Go to Actions on the menu bar and select ‘scan for hardware changes’. HP pavillion zx5000 Battery It will reinstall it and hopefully start charging immediately (mine did anyway).

If your HP Pavillion dv6000 has a hp dv6000 battery that won’t charge yet still turns on when plugged in, turn off the laptop and remove the battery then wait for around 30 seconds, re-insert it and turn it back on, the charging update should say, plugged in, charging. I made the bios update, and works for me. My Dv6000 battery problems were fixed. The battery led always blinking every time and the battery didn’t charge. Now it’s ok !

If it is still under warranty you can chat with an online hp tech who will check it out over the internet and send you a replacement for free. the dv 6000 laptops have a recall on a few problems and there is a bios update to fix it before it happens but will not right it after the fact the recall on specific problems extends the warranty to 24 months.

Just got it to charge again.While the laptop is powered and in Windows XP, press and hold the POWER button until it dies. Then, remove the dv6000 laptop battery. Power it back up and enter Windows. Then, re-insert the hp laptop battery.

So I always remove the Hp dv2000 battery after I have powered down the laptop, and I have not had any battery problems since then!

I had the same issue my fix was a new cmos battery that was only .00 and install updated bios software from HP
I had the hp 530 battery problem where it showed my battery NOT CHARGING. I took it apart because my QUICKPLAY would not work either and the QUICKPLAY lights stayed on even after I shut down the laptop. I found that the black ribbon cable on the right (the other looks the same but you can see it is for the power button) was slightly kiltered in the flat socket it goes to underneath the area where the quickplay button is. HP Presario V2000 Battery(compaq v2000 battery), HP pavillion zx5000 Battery(HP hp zx5000 battery), HP PP2200 Battery HP Pavilion dv2000 Battery(hp dv2000 battery), HP HSTNN-LB31 Battery,I straightened it out and made sure it was pushed all the way in and locked and place it all back together and everything worked perfectly after that. About a month before that my POWER and SOUND didn`t work. I did the same thing to fix those problems. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THOSE CABLES EXACTLY RIGHT in there, HP Presario V2000 Battery IT MAY JUST BE YOUR PROBLEM TOO.

Some people dont realise that you should avoid small charges and discharges, if your batery does not go above 40% mabe its charge memory thinks its full. to fix this problem let the batery run fully down, then charge it all the way again. try it a few times if it doesnt work. and you have to go all the way, not let windows go into hibernation. to do that you need to get the batery low, then boot to some boot disk and let it sit till the hp laptop batery dies.

HP has posted BIOS updates to address hp laptop battery problems as well as the auto startup on some.If you will post the full model number,someone can help you find your driver/updates page.

Toshiba Satellite A75 Power Jack And Toshiba Laptop Battery Charge Problem

Toshiba Satellite A75 power jack and toshiba laptop battery charge problem

A terrible connection between DC-IN power jack on the system board and the system board is a very common problem with Toshiba Satellite A75/A70 notebooks. If your laptop is out of warranty, then you can fix the problem by resoldering DC-IN jack on the system board. If it’s still under warranty, it would be fixed at no charge to you.

Problem symptoms:

1. Laptop randomly shuts down without any warning.
2. Power LED and toshiba laptop battery charge LED start flickering when you wiggle the power cord or the toshiba AC adapter tip on the back or your laptop.
3. The battery will not get charged.
4. When you plug AC adapter, the laptop appears to be dead and there is no LED activity at all (DC-IN jack on the system board is broken).

To fix the problem, you have to take your laptop apart, remove the system board to resoleder or replace the DC-IN jack. Toshiba Satellite A70/A75 disassembly guides will help you to remove the system board. Take a closer look at the power jack on the system board with a magnifying glass. In most cases you get the power problem because of a terrible connection between the DC jack and the system board, you’ll see a crack between the DC jack connector and the system board.

Here is an example of Toshiba Satellite A75 power jack. The crack occurs between the DC jack pin and the system board.

In some cases the connection is excellent, but the DC jack is terrible itself. You can find a new DC jack for Toshiba Satellite A75 and Toshiba Satellite A70/A75 laptops here. Search for DC jack A75 or DC jack A75.

How to resolder laptop power jack yourself.

UPDATE:

Sometimes, after you replace the jack, you can see that the system board doesn’t get power at all. The toshiba pa3465u-1brs battery will not charge and the power LED will not light when you plug in the PA3468U-1ACA AC adapter. So, here’s a possible explanation.
When a connection between the positive pin and the motherboard breaks (cracks), the power jack gets loose. You can feel it when you plug in the toshiba ac adapter plug. A loose power jack can hurt the trace inside the hole in the system board. Take a look at the picture.

As you see, the positive pin goes through the hole in the system board and you solder it on the top side. Right? What if the trace between the top side and the bottom side is broken somewhere inside the hole? I’ve seen it before a few times. In this case everything looks nice and clean on the top side. When you plug in the PA3469U-1ACA AC adapter, you get normal voltage readings between “+” and “-“ pins on the top side, but the power DOESN’T go to the motherboard at all, because there is no connection between the top and bottom sides. Test with a multimeter if there is a connection between the top and the bottom.
If the trace inside the hole is broken you still can fix it. You can run a wire to connect the top and the bottom sides. Be careful not to small something on the board.

Update:

Here’s another solution to fix the power jack problem, it shows how to relocate the power jack outside the laptop base. Check it out here: Toshiba Satellite A75 failed power jack workaround.

When you repair a loose power jack, it’s a excellent thought to check the jack on both sides of the motherboard. When you remove the top cover from a Toshiba Satellite A70/A75 laptop you can see only points where the jack is soldered to the motherboard as it shown on the second picture in this post, but you cannot see the jack itself as it shown on the first picture.
Removing the motherboard from Satellite A70/A75 laptop is a excellent thought because the jack itself might has a broken “+” pin, as it shown on the picture below. If the “+” broke off the base, you’ll have to replace the jack.

Toshiba Satellite A105 battery charging problem

Today I got Toshiba Satellite A105-S2712 for repair with the battery charging problem. It is a new model and we do not have a lot of experience with these laptops. The customer complained that the laptop will not charge the battery when it is plugged into the AC outlet.

The laptop failure symptoms:

The laptop will not turn on when I try to start it from the battery. When the laptop is turned off and plugged into the AC outlet the battery charge LED doesn’t light up. I know that the battery is not charged and the LED should light up when I plug the laptop into the AC outlet. The laptop starts fine when it is plugged. When I go the mouse over the Toshiba Power Icon in the lower right corner, the balloon will pop up and there is a line in there: Battery Remaining: N/A.

The problem repair procedure:

You can easily fix the problem just by updating the BIOS. Toshiba says that the BIOS version should be at least v1.30. So, go to Toshiba website and click on Downloads. Select your laptop model and find any downloads for the BIOS. In the BIOS change history you will see the description of changes.

After I updated the BIOS, the battery charging problem disappeared.

How to solve Dell Latitude D630 AC Adapter power jack problem

You cannot access and repair the Dell Latitude D630 AC Adapter power jack while the motherboard is mounted to the metal bracket, it has to be removed first. In a Dell laptop the power jack is soldered to the motherboard. If the laptop loses power intermittently when you wiggle the power plug, most likely the Dell ac adapter power jack is hurt and has to be repaired. In order to repair the Dell Latitude D630 AC Adapter power jack youâll have to remove the motherboard.
Remove two screws securing the cooling fan. Disconnect fan cable from the motherboard. Remove the fan. Remove one screw securing the power button board. Lift up the board and disconnect it from the motherboard. Loosen three (red) screws and remove one (green) screw securing the heat sink. Remove the heat sink.
Remove four screws securing the hard drive bracket. Lift up the bracket and disconnect it from the motherboard. Remove two screws securing the Dell Latitude D630 AC Adapter speaker assembly. What is the problem with dead IBM ThinkPads?

have been using IBM thinkpads for a while now and have never faced such problem. I have an IBM thinkpad which is installedwith Windows Xp on it. Last night the thinkpad shut itself down while working and now it does not turn on. All the LEDS on the thinkpad glow when power button is pressed. Can anyone here clarify me What is the problem with dead IBM ThinkPads? Any help is highly appreciated.

It is possible that the battery of the laptop is out of charge due to which the laptop is not booting. Sometimes the battery of the laptop does not get charged when connected to the AC adapter. If such a situation occurs then the system will only work till there is enough charge in the battery. Connect the laptop to the AC adapter and let the battery charge for about 3 to 4 hours. Disconnect it from the AC adapter and check if the laptop is booting.

If the system is not able to access the RAM chips then it will not be able to start. The files which are required for the operating system to boot are first loaded in the system RAM and are then executed from there. Hence if the system RAM is inaccessible then the system will not boot. Open the laptop and remove the RAM chips from its respective slots and clean the connecting terminals.Replace the RAM chip back in its slot and boot the system. If there are multiple RAM chips then try and boot the system using single RAM chip at a time. If for any RAM chip if the system does not boot then discard the RAM chip as it may be faulty.

As the laptop was working when it shut itself down, I suspect that there is some heating issue related to it. If the internalcomponents of the laptop gets heated up beyond the threshold level then the system will shut itself down to prevent hurt to the internal components. In this situation I would suggest that you take the thinkpad to the nearest service center and get itchecked. If there is any hardware failure associated to the problem, it will be solved for free if the laptop is under warranty. Otherwise some charges will be levied.

The motherboard of the computer is responsible for all the functions which are carried out by the computer. Hence for proper working of computer, the motherboard should work properly. If the motherboard is not working properly, then the system will give problems which are similar to the one which you are facing. Get the motherboard of the laptop checked and see if it is faulty or not. If the motherboard is faulty then you will have to get the motherboard replaced.

Most of the laptops face the problem with residual charge storage. Residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips and other components on the motherboard. If the residual charge stored on the laptop reaches the threshold level then the system will not be able to access all the components and hence will not boot. To bring the laptop back to working state, you will have to clear the residual charge of the laptop. To clear the residual charge from the laptop, shut down the laptop and remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Replace the battery and check if the laptop is booting or not.

According to me the power bank on the laptop must not be working properly due to which the system is not able to power up. Power bank situated on the motherboard of the laptop must not be able to provide right voltage levels to all the components which are connected to the computer. Hence when you are pressing the power button the system is not able to provide right amount of voltage and hence it is not powering up. Ge the powerbank on the motherboard checked and if it is faulty, get it replaced. Replacing the powerbank will solve the problem.
