Is The Video Output From A Sony Vaio Compatible With All Televisions?

I have a Sony Vaio FE28H that I used to hook up to my TV in the UK regularly and without issue. Since moving to Australia, I’m unable to get a signal on the TV.
I was wondering, is the signal that is output compatible with televisions worldwide; or is there an internal regional setting that needs to be changed?

How Do I Add A S-video Output To Gateway Laptop?

My Gateway laptop has room for an S-video cable. But, it was blocked. It may have had the opportunity to show the factory. As an option, not included in the adapter S-Video cable is already installed, I can only add an S-video port without adding PCI cards or other adapters or cards?
