Closely monitor the Gateway MT6840 AC Adapter. When the Gateway ac adapter gets low, change the battery or connect to AC power immediately to prevent losing any unsaved work. To monitor the Gateway MT6840 AC Adapter:
Go the mouse pointer over the power cord icon or battery icon  in the taskbar. A message appears showing the remaining battery time and the current power plot.
Wait for a Low Battery warning message to appear.
Look at the Gateway MT6840 AC Adapter status indicator.
If your Gateway MT6840 AC Adapter indicator displays what looks like an inaccurate charge, you may need to recalibrate the battery.
The battery recharges while it is installed and your notebook is connected to Gateway MT6840 AC Adapter. While the battery recharges, the battery charge indicator turns on.
Caution: If your notebook is connected to Gateway MT6840 AC Adapter power, you can change the battery while the notebook is turned on. If your notebook it is not plugged into an Gateway AC adapter outlet, you must turn the notebook off while changing the battery.

]]> I have a gateway mx6650 laptop with a standard VGA monitor output and my mac 30″ show has only a DVI-D dual link connector. Will my laptop, with an ATI 3D RAGE PRO PCI video card, be able to power the 30″ with some kind of VGA to DVI-D converter? All I want to do is test the monitor to see if it will turn on, but it won’t turn on without an input. Any help is appreciated, TIA!

]]> We hae a Toshiba Satellite which has a cracked screen. We’ve gotten a VGA cord and attached it to the new monitor. The laptop recognizes that there’s an external monitor, but the monitor has a “Check Signal Cable” show only and is not showing us anything on our laptop screen. We tried changing the resolution on our computer but otherwise are meeting dead ends. Can you help?

]]> I want to order one for use with my music software because my current 17 is not huge enough for the kind of editing I do but with this monitor there are 2 horizontal black margins on the top and bottom of the screen. If I set the screen to another resolution so they disappear the screen looks wierd.
I want to not make the mistake of buying the larger screen for nothing. I really like using my macbook with xp. It is stable and I get the best of both worlds but if I wont be able to use a huge apple monitor with it then then I will have to search for a another powerful laptop that I can connect a huge monitor to.
