my desktop came with a realtek 8185 extensible 802. 11 b/g wireless device, I have a DSL internet connection. My gateway laptop has a realtek r tl8139/810x family quick ethernet nic, what else do I need to go wireless???

Does It Make Sense To Use A Powerline Ethernet Desktop To Use Between My Laptop And Home Wireless?

I don’t have wireless internet on my laptop. It is a 2000 Del. I want to be able to connect to the internet where ever in my home so I bought a powerline at a garage sale for cheap. Does it make sense to use for this purpose? I have ZER0 experience with computers.

I am trying to find a program that would allow my Windows XP to run in a similar fashion. I don’t know what operating system that ancient Sony Vaio used, but is there an program that could imitate it? I get so tired of the ancient start-bar!
