Won't work. The 30" Apple Cinema Display's dual-link DVI input can only receive a digital TMDS video signal. Your laptop's VGA port can only send out an analog RGBHV signal, which the 30" ACD cannot use. A DVI-to-VGA adapter will NOT work. Those are intended for computer graphics cards with DVI-I outputs that can also send out a VGA signal. Nope. Won’t work.
