I bought a computer with Vista Basic . I called the mfg before upgrading the RAM. They told me that 512MB was pretty much just enough to run Vista. I added a 1GB stick and it was great. I now have 2GB which is my PCs max capacity. It's perfect for what I am doing now, but this was a year ago when I first started with computers. I plan to upgrade to a bigger PC in the near future.
