You need at least 512mb (1gig recommended) of RAM for vista.
No. Don’t even try it on a computer that is not at least double Microsoft’s recommendation.

Vista does need a min of 512. I bought a computer with Vista Basic . I called the mfg before upgrading the RAM. They told me that 512MB was pretty much just enough to run Vista. I added a 1GB stick and it was fantastic. I now have 2GB which is my PCs max capacity. It’s perfect for what I am doing now, but this was a year ago when I first started with computers. I plot to upgrade to a larger PC in the near future.
