What Laptop Should I Buy? Is Mac Difficult To Adapt To If I’m Used To Pc?

I need a notebook for basic college work and internet use. I will also store pics and music (but not an insane amount). In the summer, I may be traveling abroad w/ it on my back, but not for sure(so weight is a consideration but not a priority). My budget is about $1500.
I like a lot of things about Mac and it would be simple to just go the apple store and get it over with. But, I much more familiar w/ using a PC and may find a better deal, since apple never really offers sales the way other brands do. What do you reckon?
Any reccomendations for me? Thanks!

What Is The Best Laptop I Can Get Online For A $900 Budget?

I have been given a $900 budget to buy a new laptop and my question is this: what is the best deal someone can find for me online? Here are my very basic stipulations:
I would like a dual-core laptop. I would like it to be equipped with Windows Vista, preferably Vista Home Premium.
I will be using the laptop mostly for honestly intensive web-surfing and downloading, playing online poker, listening to music and dvds. I play games occasionally, but the laptop does not need to be a “gaming” computer.
Please include shipping to Pennsylvania and tax in your calculations (I also live in the Delaware area, so if the laptop were located at say, Best Buy or Circuit City, I could pick it up in Delaware and avoid both of those problems as Delaware has no sales tax).
Finally, I would like this to be some kind of legit deal. Please don’t include some sketchy site you found on Froogle offering $200 laptops.
Have at it folks! Do me proud! Thanks in advance for your answers :-)

Laptops:mac Or Alienware?

So I’m plotting on buying a new laptop this holiday season where the sales are plenty but I’m having distress deciding which laptop to get. I can only spend about $1200 maximum and I can’t choose whether to spring for an alienware laptop or a macbook. I’ll be using the laptop for a lot of gaming and digital art stuff I’ve questioned around and supposedly if you bootcamp a macbook it can run high end games really well but alienware laptops are built to play games >.

Does It Make Sense To Use A Powerline Ethernet Desktop To Use Between My Laptop And Home Wireless?

I don’t have wireless internet on my laptop. It is a 2000 Del. I want to be able to connect to the internet where ever in my home so I bought a powerline at a garage sale for cheap. Does it make sense to use for this purpose? I have ZER0 experience with computers.
